Dedicated to preserving traditional medicine and promoting the ancient wisdom of Traditional Vaidyam (Ayurveda), Siddha, Naturopathy, and Tribal medicine. Our organization serves as a beacon for practitioners and researchers alike, ensuring that the healing traditions of India are preserved for future generations.
We work closely with traditional healers and modern scientists to document and validate ancient practices, making them accessible to the modern world while maintaining their spiritual and cultural essence.
Paaramparya Vaidya Maha Sangham (PVMS), is dedicated to uniting a wide range of traditional medical practitioners from diverse backgrounds across India. This organization is formed by a core group of traditional practitioners including Nati Vaidyas, Raja Vaidyas, Paramparya Vaidyas, Herbalists, Guru Parampara Vaidyas, and Siddha Vaidyas. Each of them is specialized in distinct medical practices rooted in centuries-old traditions. Since its inception, the Sangham has spearheaded numerous initiatives in partnership with the Trans-Disciplinary University (TDU), Bengaluru, striving to preserve and promote traditional medical practices.
In line with its mission, PVMS has organized knowledge exchange programs and documentation workshops nationwide. These programs aim to empower traditional practitioners, share knowledge, and preserve ancient medical practices for future generations. We have organized state-level and national programs in collaboration with the Department of Botany at Sri Venkateswara University. On April 9, 10, and 11, we partnered in organizing the International Conference on Traditional & Natural Medicine: Integrating Modern and Natural Therapy (ICTNT 2025). This milestone event served as a crucial platform to raise global awareness about India's rich traditional medical practices. This conference provided a unique opportunity, especially for students in medical fields, to explore integrating traditional practices, diets, and therapeutics into their holistic development, thereby inspiring the next generation to value and incorporate these ancient systems into modern life.
Paaramparya Vaidya Maha Sangham is deeply committed to collaborating with scholars, researchers, and academicians to document uncodified traditional medical practices. The organization focuses on establishing international associations with literary, scientific, and industrial communities, aiming to promote traditional medicine on a global scale. PVMS aspires to collaborate with scientists to develop safety and efficacy frameworks for traditional medicine, as well as conduct comprehensive, systematic studies to validate these practices through modern scientific methods. Furthermore, PVMS seeks to draw attention to the specialized therapeutic methods used by individual traditional practitioners, particularly those addressing rare and incurable diseases for which modern medicine has yet to find solutions. Through these efforts, PVMS aims to bridge the gap between traditional and modern medicine, contributing to the preservation of invaluable indigenous medical knowledge and its integration into contemporary healthcare systems, thereby passing on traditional medical systems and values to future generations.
For traditional practitioners, the Voluntary Certification Scheme for Traditional Community Healthcare Providers (VCSTCHP) is a national scheme established by the Foundation for Revitalisation of Local Health Traditions (FRLHT), Bengaluru, and the Quality Council of India (QCI), New Delhi. The Trans-Disciplinary University of Health Sciences and Technology (TDU) has been jointly selected for this scheme. It is a university approved by the Quality Council of India. TDU is approved by QCI as a Personnel Certification Body under ISO 17024 international standards to evaluate and certify the prior learning of traditional healers.
Through Paaramparya Vaidya Maha Sangham, Tirupati, and Trans-Disciplinary University, Bengaluru, 150 traditional practitioners have been recognized as Traditional Community Healthcare Providers to date. Their names are listed on the official Quality Council of India website.
